Read this if you think consistency matters

You don’t have to do it all of the time.

You don’t have to feel it all of the time.

You don’t have to be it all of the time.

You are whole & complete as you are in this moment, whether you allow yourself to believe it or not.

I'm not entirely unreasonable; our man-made method of consistency would be fabulous if it took into consideration the fact that humans are by nature inconsistent and allowed us to adjust accordingly. But it doesn't.

We've grown up believing that inconsistency is a fatal flaw in us as a species, somehow forgetting that Mother Nature themself is consistently inconsistent.

Your inconsistency is a feature, not a bug. See, living life to the fullest requires presence. If you were perfectly consistent, you would always miss it. Every time.

The magic of living is in your outstretched arms as you teeter on the edge of the unknown, fully human and fully otherworldly at the same time.

I hear the wariness from the other side of my screen, so I'll address it now: inconsistency doesn't want your life fall apart, it wants you to focus on what's right in front of you, to judge for yourself what your next step is. It's a very powerful way to live your life. It gives true weight to your "yes" and "no."

To embrace inconsistency, you don't need to leave it all behind and head bare naked to live in the woods as a wild hermit (as incredible as that sounds sometimes), you just need to get really intentional about what your values are and then live them out one small step at a time.
